Quest 6: Adventurer
Demonstration of how you have "put yourself out there".
Here are some pictures of my trip to California, I had an amazing opportunity to go on a trip that was offered at my school to California. We stayed at Hosteling international and had an amazing time getting to know a different culture. We left at 5 in the morning on Saturday January 16th and headed to stay at a hostel in Santa Monica, California. This was my first time being able to see the beach. As soon as we got to Santa Monica, we ran to the beach and had fun. The next day, we spent the whole day at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Los Angeles. After a long day at six flags, we went to skid row in Downtown Los Angeles and volunteered at a rescue mission. We got to cook and serve the homeless people. After the long day in Skid Row, we went to Venice beach and stayed there a couple of hours. When we got back to the Hostel, we went to the Cheese cake factory and ate some cheesecake. The next day, we went to the Museum of Tolerance and learned about world war two and the concentration camps. While at the museum, we got to meet a survivor of the camps. After the museum of tolerance, we went to volunteer at an after school program called a place called home. This experience was by far the most fun and meaningful! The next day we went to volunteer at Pet Save, During our time there we cleaned out rabbit cages, fed the rabbits and refilled water for them. Then we went to Hollywood and went around to stores and went shopping. Since it was our last day there, after we had free time to explore the beach and the rest of Santa Monica. Our last night there, we ate on the beach and after, we got gelato and continued to explore Santa Monica.
This slideshow is a photo shoot of me and my friends that happened during an interim week where we learned about beauty. We didn't just learn about our outside beauty, but about our true beauty inside. This interim week was an experience of a lifetime, everyone who participated in that week got closer to each other. During the course of the week we had many speakers come and talk to us about skin care, nutrition, and healthy makeup products. We traveled to Edwards to a dermatologist. Then lastly, we had our photo shoot, and we all worked together to get everyone the look they wanted. This experience helped me get out of my comfort zone and find my inner beauty.
