Quest 3: Giver
Volunteering at the Diabetes Management Program was quite an experience for me, the whole process began when our school attended health talks at Grand River Hospital in Rifle. The talks were about future careers that could be available to us, we got to learn what it takes for these medical professionals to get to where they are now. At one of the talks, they asked us if we would be interested in volunteering at a diabetes health fair that was coming up. SInce I lived in RIfle I decided to go and learn more about Diabetes. The day of the health fair was crazy, I was surprised at how many people came. I mostly worked as a translator, but I learned a lot about blood pressure and flu shots. Volunteering at this health fair gave me a great experience in health care and made me think about wanting a career in health care.
